I stumbled onto the website of photographer Esther Hasse after reading an article from Deutche Welle. The site uses outrageous gradients, a series of horribly stretched images in some places, as well as very enlarged pixels in others. But it works perfectly for Hasse’s photography!
Anyhow, Hasse is having a show in Germany titled “Rare Moments of Authenticity.” Think fashion pin-up, but include wrinkles, cellulite, and grey hair—the photographs showcase women from the ages of 79 and up.The article says that Hasse has been working to put out a calendar of older women dressed in haute couture.
What intrigues me is that the clothing this year is designed by Vivienne Westwood. I really like how a designer of youth and rebellion is designing for the elderly. The article did not have large images of the photographs, but you can see some of them on Hasse’s site.
